Frequently asked questions

Inspired by the comforting textures Lauren relied on during her blindness and Marimo’s favorite cozy spots, we combined our love for animals and art to create Tufted Whiskers. Here, we craft beautiful, tactile rugs that bring warmth to homes and support the animals that bring joy to our lives.

The class typically lasts between 2-4 hours. Please allocate enough time to complete your project.

This class will take place at the beautiful Massachusetts Avenue Project: 387 Massachusetts Ave, Buffalo, NY 14213

Weather permitting we will be using their outdoor classroom space (it is covered).

Our space on Vermont Street in beautiful downtown Buffalo, NY is currently undergoing renovations. If you would like to host us please reach out through our contact page.

Please wear comfortable clothing and covered shoes. We will be using glue to adhere fabric to the back of your rug, please consider wearing clothing that you would not mind getting glue on. Long hair should be tied back and loose clothing or long sleeves should be able to be rolled out of the way. The tufting machines have fast moving parts and should be treated with care.

We will supply folding chairs. Some Tufters prefer to stand and others prefer to sit and more still will change between these two positions. Please keep in mind your personal needs. We remind students to take breaks and encourage every one to enjoy the process with beverage and snack breaks!

No problem! Reschedules are permitted if notified at least 72 hours in advance. Cancellations are non-refundable. We appreciate your understanding with this policy. See our Refunds and Exchange Policy here. Please email us at info@tuftedwhiskers.com as soon as possible.

For this class we are only offering 24 x 24 inch frames. This size will be too small for two people to work on it at the same time.

In the future we plan to offer larger frames and couples classes that will allow two people to work on one piece.

Stay tuned or sign up for our email list to be the first to know when these are offered!

At this time we do not allow anyone under the age of 18 years old to attend our classes. If you have a child who is interested please send us an email so we know there is a need for future classes. Email info@tuftedwhiskers.com

You may bring your own snacks and drinks to class. Alcoholic drinks are not permitted.
