Our Inspiration

Tufted Whiskers was born from a deep passion for art and a commitment to supporting animals. Our journey has been anything but ordinary.

Overcoming Challenges

Lauren faced two challenging years of blindness, during which Cassandra became the eyes and unwavering support for the family. During this time, we also found Marimo, a tiny kitten rescued from an alleyway in Philadelphia.

A Creative Haven

In the midst of a global pandemic, we made the bold decision to purchase a 123-year-old building, with some help from family, and transform it into a creative haven for artists and dreamers alike.

A Heartfelt Mission

After a series of successful surgeries, Lauren regained sight in her right eye. This experience reinforced our belief that pets, who offer comfort in our darkest times, deserve more love and care in the world. That’s why a percentage of our profits goes to support local animal rescues, helping to give back to the animals that have given us so much.

The West Side Cat Rescue proudly serves the City of Buffalo, spanning both the East and West Sides. They are a small grassroots team fueled by passion.

Tufted Whiskers is Born

Inspired by the comforting textures Lauren relied on during her blindness and Marimo’s favorite cozy spots, we combined our love for animals and art to create Tufted Whiskers. Here, we craft beautiful, tactile rugs that bring warmth to homes and support the animals that bring joy to our lives.
